About Pixel's Bears

Pixel's Bears started in 2001 from humble beginnings when Lynn Dunn was asked if she would make a teddy bear for someone's birthday. What was different in this request was the fact that the person asking was neither family nor friend, and that they were willing to pay for a one-off collectable.

Lynn has been making bears in various sizes and shapes since 1998, but they had all been small projects for family and Big Benfriends. While she had thought about selling them, it wasn't until she had made and sold Big Ben (the bear mentioned above), that the idea of Pixel's Bears started maturing. The sale of most of her initial stock in early 2002 to her husband's co-workers convinced her that she was making valued bears.

Since the autumn of 2001, Lynn has been working on developing over 20 new bear patterns, all unique to Pixel's Bears, and has extended the range for Christmas 2002 / Spring 2003. In addition to the Collections, prototype bears are sometimes available - see the Prototype Page for further information.

Pixel's Bears launched officially at the Basildon Bear Fair, July 2002, where Lynn donated a highly-popular specially-created musical bear called Marcus to the Fair's charity auction for the Burned Children's Club.
